In the early 1990s, due to the

growing popularity of their new

mascots, Thorpe Park created

The Thorpe Park Rangers Club

for all their young fans.

Originally the club was open for children under 12 years old but as the 1990s drew to a close the age limit was lowered to only include children under 10.

Membership to the club lasted for two seasons during which members were treated to the following rewards.

When signing up to the club you would receive a starter’s pack, over the years these packs contained:

The Passport

Each club member would be given their own official members passport. As well as being a nice collector’s item this passport was also a way of accessing some of the clubs benefits.

Producing the passport at the admission kiosks would allow the child half price entry to the park at anytime during their two year membership, later into the 90s this was changed to six free visits within the two years.

Once in the park you could also have your passport stamped, once per visit, with an image of one of the Thorpe Park Rangers. This was only for the first 6 visits but on the 7th visit Chief Ranger himself would sign the page in your passport.

Also on your first 6 visits to the park you could collect a different brightly coloured Thorpe Park Rangers Club button badge, these were available to collect from the club headquarters.

The Passport also granted certain discounts on selected items from the Thorpe Park Rangers Shop.

Cost of Membership

Back in the early 1990s membership only cost £6 for two years, with renewal after that two year period costing only £4 per child. By the 1999 season this price had increased to £14 for two years.

But wait, there’s more!

One reward that I remember but cannot seem to find mentioned anywhere was that whilst they were a member of the club each child would receive a special card from the Rangers on their birthday.
