Ranger County opened in 1994 and was the new park area for the Thorpe Park Rangers.

 

The area was themed around a

tropical African Bush and opened in two stages over the 1994 & 1995 seasons.

 

It was home to 4 Ranger themed family rides, The Rangers Showcase, The Arena,

a picnic area and a shop.

The Rides

Mr Monkey’s Banana Ride

 

Years open: 1994 - Now

 

Mr Monkey’s very own ride is a bright yellow banana shaped swinging ship ride.

Mr Rabbit’s Tropical Travels

 

Years open: 1995 - 2000/2001

 

A relaxing family boat ride around tropical gardens and through the Magic Mill, that told the story of how Mr Rabbit met the rest of the Thorpe Park Rangers.

Miss Hippo’s Fungle Safari

 

Years open: 1995 - 2009

 

A relaxing (though sometimes quite noisy) Jungle themed children’s ‘Vintage Cars’ style track ride.

Chief Ranger’s Carousel

 

Years open: 1994 - Now

 

This carousel is unique to Thorpe Park as it is well themed featuring traditional gallopers alongside models of classic Thorpe Park ride vehicles and The Thorpe Park Rangers.

Other Thorpe Park Ranger themed attractions in this area included:

 

 

Mr Elephant’s Picnic Area - A themed and landscaped dedicated picnic area in the

heart of Ranger county. Calypso BBQ & Bar now stands in this area. A 1/50th model of the area can be found on the Ashby Model Making site.

 

 

Mr Giraffe’s Fungle Store - Situated next to Miss Hippo’s Fungle Safari and in the

same building as the Rangers Showcase this store used to sell all kinds of Rangers branded items. Some of which can be found on the Rangers Merchandise page. The Nemesis Inferno Shop is now is this area.

 

 

Ranger’s Showcase - The Rangers Showcase, formerly the Club House, was home to

the Thorpe Park Ranger shows. Information about the various shows that have been performed over the years in the Showcase can be found on this link.

 

 

Ranger County Arena - Opening in 1994, as part of the first phase of Ranger County,

the 900 seater Ranger County Arena, with its blue and yellow seats, has been home to the park’s high dive and stunt shows ever since. Information about these show can be found on the Arena page.
