A collection of miniature 1/36th-scale models of various world landmarks set amongst relaxing gardens.

Location:

Then – Central Park

Now – Stealth now towers over the area where Model World, the ‘Classic’ Flying Fish and the Sunken Garden used to be.

Official Thorpe Park Description:

From the 2000 Thorpe Park website  “1/36th-scale models are displayed in a beautiful garden setting. Measure the CN Tower against Nelson's Column, and see how The Pyramid of Cheops stacks up against the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Tower of London.”

The Attraction:

Model World was one of Thorpe Park’s original attractions when it opened in 1979. Originally this covered quite a large area, being reduced in size over time. One of the main changes to this area occurred in 1990 when ‘Space Station Zero” was moved outside to become ‘The Flying Fish’.

The majority of Model World had been removed by 2004 and the area was finally closed in 2005 to make way for the construction on Stealth.
